Entrepreneurship Education in the Marketing Classroom
A recent entrepreneurial survey conducted by Junior Achievement shows that over half of young people today would like to start their own business someday. That means that these young people will need essential knowledge and skills to become entrepreneurial thinkers and doers. Wisconsin's Framework is adapted from the National Content Standards for Entrepreneurship Education (www.entre-ed.org) and focuses on four main areas: Traits and Behaviors, Foundational Skills, Entrepreneurial Process Skills, and Business Functions. State Superintendent Tony Evers sums it up this way, "Entrepreneurship Education...is about creating and nurturing a learning environment that promotes... (These) traits and behaviors." Entrepreneurship Literacy in Wisconsin is a PRIORITY! To best address this priority, the Department of Public Instruction is pleased to announce the following resources for educators to create a culture of innovation for their students!
